Marvin Dodde

Marvin Dodde, of Howard City, a child of God, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 17, at Trillium Woods in Byron Center. He was 84. He had served his country in the Korean War, after which he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a deacon and elder at his home churches. He had worked in construction and had driven semi-trucks. After retirement, he did volunteer work in construction. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Wilma (Dieterman) Dodde and his children, Lynnette (Mike) Nichols, Terri Baldus, Derk Dodde, and Dr. Holle Janeski; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Trena and Morris Dieterman; sisters-in-law, Gen Dodde, Verna Baas, and Julia Dieterman. Friends may meet the family at the Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 660 S. State St., on Monday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church with the Rev. C.J. denDulk officiating. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the services at the church. Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Riverside Township Cemetery in McBain. Military services will be held following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Faith Hospice/Trillium Wood.
