Mary Lou Watson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Lou Watson of Cadillac passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at her home. She was 95. She was born on January 26, 1918 in Spencer, West Virginia to Charles O. & Ethel G. (Rader) Butcher. On June 5, 1939 in Brian, Ohio she married Richard L. Watson and he preceded her in death April 11, 2004. Mrs. Watson had been employed at Cadillac Girl Coat and then became a homemaker and raised her daughter. She later went back to work at Cadillac Molded Rubber and retired from there. Mary Lou was a volunteer at the Shepard's table and a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and was active in the Stitchery Group there. She loved to walk, play the piano, sewing, knitting and square dancing. She enjoyed going to the lake and feeding the ducks with her great granddaughter. Mrs. Watson also enjoyed cooking, canning, planting flowers, gardening and cross word puzzles. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Richard) Lucas of Cadillac; grandchildren, Deborah (Todd) Jiskra of Battle Creek and Rebecca (Derek) Larrance of Cadillac; great grandchildren: Marie, Christopher, MacKenzie and Corbin and her special friend and companion Kristie Gushwa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and a brother. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Scott Torkko officiating. Friends may meet the family prior to the service.
