Mildred P. Dixon

Mildred P. Dixon of Mesick, Mi died Friday, October 7, 2011 at Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City. She was 98. She was born September 22, 1913 in Midland, MI to Joseph and Lillian (Baird) Powell. Mrs. Dixon was employed at Bay City Chrysler Shop for four years and at Bay City Cleaners. She was owner of Shell Grill in Roscommon in the late 1960\'s and owner of a Cadillac restaurant in the mid 1970\'s. She was employed at Four Star in Cadillac for 12 years. She enjoyed bowling, the races and Detroit Tiger Baseball. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Dixon, her children, Lillian Powell, Shirley Ann Hunt on Aug. 3, 1997 and Evelyn Dixon six brothers, Homer, Leonard, Isaac, Seth, Harold and Earl, a sister, Carrie and 3 grandsons and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Pastor Joe Martin officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday (today) from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cherry Grove Township Cemetery in Wexford County, Michigan.
