Milly M. Engler of Tustin passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Lakeview Lutheran Manor in Cadillac. She was 98. She was born in Tustin on June 19, 1913 to David and Agnes (Watson) Johnson and they preceded her in death. On May 19, 1933 in Grand Rapids she married Adolph W. Engler and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2004 She graduated from Tustin High School and St. Mary\'s School of nursing. She was a passionate mother and grandmother and her family was her top priority. Milly had a great sense of humor and always had a merry heart. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking, canning, sewing, gardening and never forgot a family member with a card on special occasions. Milly was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Square Dance Club. She is survived by her children: Loretta (Winford) Lovelace, Mitzi (Donald) Ruswick and Iva (Lonnie) Leftwich all of Tustin, Douglas Engler of Leroy and Kurt (Ella) Engler of Lewiston, Michigan; 14 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a brother, Max (Mary) Johnson of Cadillac and a sister, Ruth Peterson of Cadillac; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents Milly was preceded in death by an infant sister, her brothers, Elof and Ivan Johnson, a grandson, Kurt Douglas “Dugan†Engler and a sister, Dorothy Stenman. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 6, 2012 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend James Friesner officiating. Burial will take place at Burdell Township Cemetery in Tustin. Friends may meet the family from 3-5 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home.
