Minerva M. Porter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Minerva M. Porter of Mt. Prospect, Illinois passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She was 71. She was born October 5, 1942 in Mesick, Michigan to Frank W. and Martha M. (Chandler) Myers and they preceded her in death. Minerva was a very loving and caring person. She loved art and was artistic herself, she enjoyed drawing and poetry. Minerva collected dolls and enjoyed creating clothing and dressing them. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting museums and historical sites. She is survived by her husband, Richard D. Porter; children: Dennis Francisco of Interlochen, Deborah Duran of Sante Fe, New Mexico, Richard (Teri) Porter of Tucson, Arizona and Scott Porter of Branson, Missouri; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings: Darlene Campbell, Chuck (Marilyn) Myers, Jim (Judy) Myers, Mary (Glenn) Lily and Ruth Ann Burrows and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Francisco and a brother, Ronnie Myers. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Pastor Beverly Williams officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Sixteen Cemetery in Slagle Township, Wexford County.
