Muriel F. Corey

Muriel F. Corey of Boon passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Green Acres Retirement Living in Cadillac. She was 82. She was born October 21, 1930 in Detroit to Frederick and Katherine (Eicholtz) Schuh. Mrs. Corey attended Zion Lutheran School and graduated from Southwestern High School in Detroit, Michigan. She married Charles B. Corey on May 17, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1997. She worked for the Cadillac Area Public Schools for over 27 years, until retiring in 1995. Mrs. Corey was a member of the Boon Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking and homemaking in general. She is survived by her nephews, Gary Peterson of Fenton and Robert (Erin) Peterson of Westland; nieces, Sharon Hoover of Dearborn and Lois (Taceen) Khalaf of Westland; special friends, Gary and Stacie Tropf of Cadillac; great nieces and nephews: Lisa, Billy, Robby, Eric, Kimberly, Laura, Bethany, Daniel, Meghan and Colleen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, Viola Schuh and Elvera Peterson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at Boon Baptist Church with Pastor Martin Siegwart officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the services at church. Burial will be at Boon Westside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Boon Baptist Church. Arrangements were made by the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac.
