Nancy Ellen Hubbard Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nancy Ellen Hubbard of Big Rapids formerly of the Leroy area died Friday, February 11, 2011 at her home. She was 74. She was born in Saginaw on September 28, 1936 to Frank & Julia M. (Maltby) Johnson and they preceded her in death. On January 3, 1959 in Detroit she married William R. Hubbard and he preceded her in death on April 11, 1997. Nancy had been very active with the Lupus Foundation and had served as secretary and editor of their newsletter for many years. She enjoyed reading, watching birds, road trips, and was an artist as well as a devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include her children: Daniel (Kris) Hubbard of Leroy, Ken Hubbard of Big Rapids, David (Tammy) Hubbard of Leroy, Margaret â€œPegâ€ (Steve) Hoffman of Howell, Sharon (Wayne) Rodgers of Evart, and Jody Hubbard of Big Rapids; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and memorial services will take place in the spring.
