Nancy Louise Tomlinson of Cadillac passed away Friday morning, June 21, 2013 at her home. She was 60. Nancy was born on March 7, 1953 in Toledo, Ohio to Edward Asher & Helen Anne (Cook) Thurston. She graduated from Boyne City High School and went on to get a Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University and received her Masters of Divinity from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. Nancy had served as pastor of churches in Iowa, Michigan, Ohio and Oklahoma and was a member of the Presbytery of Lake Michigan. The joy of her life was her three children and 5 grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, reading, and the sound of Loons. Nancy was a former member of the Lake City Chamber Ambassadors. On July 4, 1981 at the First Presbyterian Church in Boyce City she married Paul R. Tomlinson and he survives her along with their children: Christopher R. Tomlinson of Sheridan, Timothy J. Tomlinson of Marquette and Melissa Suzanne (Joseph) Helsley of Boyne City; grandchildren: Andromeda, Joseph, Aurora, Arya, and Elijah; her mother and step father, Helen Thurston and Ray Brantley of Boyne City; a brother, David (Cathy) Thurston of Dafter. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward A. Thurston, a brother, John Thomas Thurston; a sister, Mary Cassidy-Johnson and an infant son Edward Anthony Tomlinson. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cadillac with Reverend Scott Torkko and Parish Assistant Judy Coffey officiating. Friends may meet the family from 4-7 PM Monday at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or to Oasis Family Resource Center.
