Nora Kay (Barnes) Wetherell

Nora Kay (Barnes) Wetherell passed away November 12, 2011 at her home surrounded by her friends and family. She was 58. She was born October 21, 1953 in Cadillac to Lloyd \'Buster\' and Mary Barnes and they preceded her in death. Nora worked at the North end Crystal Flash until retiring in 1992 to become a full time Grandma. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family. She loved: fishing, picnicking, gardening, doing yard work, boating and tubing with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking her grandchildren to parades and fairs and telling stories of her childhood as well as watching her grandchildren\'s sporting events. On November 6, 1971 at St. Mary\'s Episcopal Church in Cadillac she married Gordon Wetherell and he survives her along with their children: Kirk (Lori) Wetherell of Boon and Kerry (Jason) Hoekwater of McBain; Grandchildren: Keegan and Ceara Wetherell of Boon and Danielle and Alex Hoekwater of McBain; many Brothers and Sisters-in-Law: Elnor Wetherell, Sandy Little, Dave (Linda) Wetherell, Mary Hitzemann, Joe (April) Wetherell, Barb (Chuck) Hubbell, Kathy (Eddie) Mendez all of Cadillac; many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special friends: Linda Furr, Kim King and Pam North. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son: Richard Dean Wetherell and half brother: Gordon Foster. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Duane Timmermans officiating. Friends may meet the family from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.
