Norman W. Nieman

March 9, 1923 - December 10, 2010

Norman W. Nieman of Cadillac slipped into eternity Friday, December 10, 2010 at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was 87. He was born in Righ, Michigan on March 9, 1923 to August & Emma (Seeburger) Nieman. He attended schools in Dundee and graduated from High School there. Norman went on and attended Ford Trade School and obtained a certificate in engineering. Norman had a successful career in the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional construction fields. He had worked as a field superintendent for companies like DeVilbiss and Durr Industries as well as serving as Project Administrator for Price-Weston where he traveled extensively through out Europe. Mr. Nieman had his pilot\'s license and enjoyed flying. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cadillac. On April 21, 2006 in Stanton, Michigan he married the former Robin L. Bryce and she survives him along with his daughter, Beth (Curt) Marker of Marquette, MI; grandchildren: Craig (Kelly) Marker of Marquette, Michelle (Chris) Bouldrey of Jackson, and Jeff (Jamie) Marker of Menonminee; step-daughter, Laurissa (Max) Champlin and their four children of Ionia; two step-sons: Ben (Amanda) Weston and their two children of Stanton and Joe Richards and his son of Truckee, CA; several great grandchildren; a brother, Arnold Nieman of Hawthorne, FL. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church (11198 East M-55) in Cadillac with Reverend Dr. Bryan Salminen and Reverend Joel Hess officiating. Friends may meet the family at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund. Arrangements were made by the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. An online guestbook is available at www.petersonfh.com.
