Paul A. Warner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Paul A. Warner of Homosassa, Florida, formerly of the Cadillac area passed away Tuesday morning, March 20, 2012 at Hospice of Citrus County at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida. He was 82. He was born on April 16, 1929 in Lake Odessa, Michigan to William and Anna (Rees) Warner. He married the former Alice Vogeding and she preceded him in death. Mr. Warner had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed as a park ranger and special assistant to the director of conservation of the State of Michigan for 26 years until retiring on June 2, 1984. Prior to being a park ranger he had been a prison guard in Jackson, Michigan. He enjoyed collecting coins and guns. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Ludington as well as Homosassa, Florida. Survivors include his daughters: Pauline (James) Bishop of Tennessee, Rhonda (Frank) Cramer of North Carolina and Deanna (Ed) Markiewicz of Jackson, Michigan; several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several step children, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sisters: Jean Phillips of Big Rapids, Louise (Keith) Christensen of Coral, Patricia (Kirt) Denman of Marne, Sharon (Garry) Wortman of Jenison, Bonnie (Frank) Spieker of Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews and his special friend, Cora Surkamer. He was preceded in death by his father, William Warner and mother, Anna Eastway, an infant son, his wife, Alice, 3 brothers: Richard, Louie and Del Eastway and a sister, Joan Fountain. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Pastor Jim Helmboldt officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Leroy with full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard. Friends may meet the family from 10:00 AM until services on Saturday.
