Phyllis I. Wierman

Phyllis I. Wierman of Cadillac died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. She was 87. She was born May 22, 1923 in Midland, Michigan to James T. and Vera C. (Brooks) Munroe. She married Frank G. Wierman July 1, 1947 in Midland, Mi. He preceded her in death December 23, 1986. Phyllis had worked for H.L. Green Store and while she was in Florida, she enjoyed tap dancing at the Sun & Fun Resort. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society and was known for having beautiful flowers at her home. She also enjoyed going to the Casino. She is survived by her son, Rick (Karin) Wierman of Traverse City, grandchildren; Holly Fessler, Richard Wierman, Dan (Heather) Wierman, Sean Wierman and Mark Wierman, nine great-grandchildren, sisters; Joan Kelsey and Lila Myers both of Midland and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Thomas in 2009 and two sisters, Mary Wittbrodt and Susan Butler. A visitation only is planned for Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Peterson Funeral Home, Cadillac. Burial will take place in Homer Township Cemetery, Midland County, Michigan.
