Radene Comfort “Randy†Knoop

Radene Comfort “Randy†Knoop of Reed City passed away peacefully Sunday May 15, 2011 at Spectrum Health Rehab & Nursing Center in Reed City. She was 70. She was born March 2, 1941 in Leroy to Harold & Marguerite (Jensen) Maitland. She spent her childhood and school years on the family farm and attended Leroy Schools and pine River High School where she was a cheerleader and majorette. After her marriage to Dale “Zeke†Knoop she moved to Reed City to raise her family and has remained there ever since. She loved to work outdoors, watch her family\'s sporting events, feed the birds and animals, and was always quick to laugh. She had been employed at Simonds Industries in Big Rapids for many years and also loved her work for Ada\'s Catering at the Four Winn\'s in Cadillac. Survivors include her children: Tom (Lauri) Knoop of Reed City, Tammy (Larry) Langton of Ada, Tracy (Mark) Novak of Bozeman, MT and Sam (Julie) Knoop of Reed City; her grandchildren: Kyle, Lacey, Summer, Michael, Kristina, Ian and Cailin; her sisters: Ada Tupis of Leroy and Leitha Sawyer of California and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers: Arthur and Arvin Maitland and a sister, Lorraine Horton. Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday May 18, 2011 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Brian Seifert officiating. Her final resting place will be Rose Lake Township Cemetery in Osceola County. Friends may meet the family from 9:30 AM until services Wednesday.
