Robert H. Behl of Cadillac went to be with his Lord Monday morning, September 1, 2014 at The Lakeview in Cadillac. He was 95. He was born on September 8, 1918 in Markey, Michigan to Herman Robert & Pauline Bertha (Schroeder) Behl. In 1946 in Cadillac he married the former Betty J. Hancock and she preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 2012. Mr. Behl had served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Alaska where he worked on the Alaskan Railroad near to the Russian border. After the service he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 39 years. Bob loved bowling, golfing and watching the Detroit Lions and Tigers. He was known as a strong man and he loved the Lord with all his heart. Bob was a member of the First Covenant Church in Cadillac his whole life and he served there in many ways. Bob loved his family with his whole heart and his survivors include his son, Gary (Merry) Behl of Cadillac; grandchildren: Jack (April) Behl, Jason (Rosette) Behl, Justin Behl, Jared (Lindsay) Behl, Mike Behl and Krissy (Darren) Hamock; 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 sons, Frederick and Lloyd Behl and 4 brothers and 3 sisters. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date. His final resting place will be Ashton Cemetery in Osceola County.
