Robert L. Peterson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert L. "BobÃ¢â‚¬Â Peterson of Leroy, Michigan passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the age of 91. Bob was born to Adolph and Marjorie Peterson in Leroy, Michigan. He graduated from Leroy Agricultural High School with the class of 1940. He was the last man of the class of 1940 surviving. In June of 1943 he married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Ochs in Detroit, where she was working during World War II at the Detroit Broach Factory where they made guns for the war. After honeymooning at Niagara Falls they returned to Leroy where they bought a farm where they lived for 51 years. They farmed and raised a family of two sons and a daughter there before moving into Leroy in 2004. He was a member of the Zion Church of Leroy. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 71 years; sons, Jerry (Dorothy) Peterson of Alabama and Dale (Mary Kay) Peterson of Leroy and a daughter, Shelley (Dan) Ciszewski of Kansas; eight grandchildren: Mark, Michelle, Sarah and Kelly Peterson, Alicia and Jennifer Ciszewski and Steven and Karen Peterson; seven great grandchildren; one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eldred "PeteÃ¢â‚¬Â Peterson. Please remember Robert, "BobÃ¢â‚¬Â as a very loving, husband, dad and grandpa and the truly good person he was. Private family services were held. Burial will be at Leroy Township Cemetery in Osceola County. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.
