Rosetta May Parker

Rosetta May Parker of Manton passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 82. She was born December 6, 1931 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan to Orin and Margaret Elizabeth (Purcell) Rathburn. She married Norris F. Parker, Jr. on September 22, 1951 in Mason, Michigan and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2003. Rosetta loved her grandchildren and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, word puzzles, canning, gardening and traveling. She is survived by her children: Richard (Virginia) Parker, Sr. of Manton, Jerry (Anna) Parker of Nawaygo, Michigan, Donna Blackmore of Manton and Linda (Mark) Stanley of Lansing; 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Sheila) Rathbun of Williamston, Michigan; sisters, Julia (Steve) Cordray of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Karen (Dave) Vannest of Harrison; many nieces and nephews and sister in law, Jane Rathbun of Cadillac. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Rathbun. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Pastor James Martin officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will Fairview Cemetery in Manton. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.
