Ruth E. Stiver

July 28, 1932 - July 4, 2014

Ruth E. Stiver of Cadillac passed away Friday morning, July 4, 2014 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was 81. She was born on July 28, 1932 in Rose City, Michigan to Russell & Idessa (King) Beck and they preceded her in death. On July 3, 1949 she married Devere R. Stiver and he preceded her in death on November 4, 1990. Mrs. Stiver had been a Cadillac resident since 1978 when she moved back here from Nebraska. In recent years Ruth had owned several businesses and worked. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved auctions. She enjoyed visiting with people, spending time with friends at Walmart and with her family. Survivors include her children: James (Dona) Stiver, JoAnn Padgett, Randy (Mary) Stiver all of Cadillac, Jennifer (Pete) Winnick of Grand Rapids, and David (Tracy) Stiver of Waukegan, IL; daughter-in-law, Judy (Floyd) Allison of Cadillac; 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley (Ricardo) Againeses of Portage, Michigan. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Stiver in 1985 and a sister, Lila Owens. A memorial gathering will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday July 26, 2014 at Kenwood Park, across the street from the beach. Her final resting place will be Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
