Shirley Ann (Tossey) Neuman- Thompson of Cadillac passed away October 29, 2013 in Winter Park, Florida. She was 77. She was born August 21, 1936 in Cadillac to Glenn and Ruth Tossey. Shirley was a stay at home mom for 29 years and loved being a mother to her children and later a grandmother to her grandchildren. She worked at Milliken's Department Store and had retired from Van Drie's Home Furnishings. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cadillac. Shirley loved to travel, crochet, knit, sew and ceramics. On August 11, 1989 in Cadillac she married Gaylord Thompson and he survives her along with her children: Brenda (Rocky) Neuman Felker of Punta Gorda, Florida, Craig (Shelly) Neuman of Bellaire, Michigan, Kent Neuman of Tustin, Michigan, Cherie (Brian) Ahrens of Winter Springs, Florida; step daughters, Kelly Thompson of Libertyville, Illinois and Tracey Hughes of Hampden, Maine; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a sister Jessie Cooper. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 29 years, Richard Neuman and siblings: James Tossey, Gerald Tossey, Evelyn Little and Vivian Bufka. Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013 at The United Methodist Church in Cadillac with Reverend Tom Ball officiating. Friends may meet the family Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. Her final resting place will be at Sherman Township Cemetery in Osceola County.
