Vadi M. Nowland

Vadi M. Nowland of Cadillac passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was 67. She was born November 11, 1945 in Cadillac to Vivian J. and Edna I. (Gustafson) Wingard and they preceded her in death. Vadi lived all her life in the Cadillac area and enjoyed collecting dolls, elephants and knitting and had donated many mittens to the schools. She had a great sense of humor and loved going to auctions and garage sales. On November 30, 1963 in Tustin she married Arnold D. Nowland and he survives her along with their children: Arnold (April) Nowland of Cadillac, Bruce (Molly) Nowland of Lake City, Kimberly (Jerry) Metesh and Angel Baker all of Cadillac; 9 grandchildren; a brother, Carl Wingard of Cadillac and a sister, Roberta "Bert†Wingard of Marion; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Wingard in 2001 and brothers: Joseph Trafford Gustafson in 1998, Richard Wingard in 2007, and Donald "Pete†Wingard in 2009. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Scott Torkko officiating. Burial will be at Burdell Township Cemetery in Tustin.
