Violet Elizabeth Goodwin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Violet Elizabeth Goodwin of Cadillac passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Simmons AFC Home. She was 86. She was born May 9, 1926 in Manton, Michigan to Clarence and Charlotte (Guernsey) Tiffany and they preceded her in death. She graduated from Manton High School. On March 7, 1947 in Plainwell, Michigan she married Roland Goodwin and he preceded her in death in 1981. Mrs. Goodwin enjoyed crocheting and knitted and made something for everyone in the family. She volunteered at the fair and traveled all over the United States. She loved spending time with family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren and playing King on the corner with them. She was active at Kirtland Terrace while living there. Violet was employed in Kalamazoo for 40 years as a seamstress and when she retired she moved back up North. Survivors include her children: Susan (Warren) Richter of Leroy, Cathy (Gary) Evans of Sherwood, MI and Michael Goodwin (Marguerite Jewell) of Cadillac; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Vivian Tiffany of Cadillac and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Robert Kahly officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Manton.
