Virginia F. Horne

October 3, 1918 - February 8, 2012

Virginia F. Horne, of Cadillac, went to be with her Lord on February 8, 2012 at the age of 93. She was born on October 3, 1918 in Iron River, Michigan to Samuel and Josephine (Leroux) Peterson and they preceded her in death. Virgy met the love of her life, Robert “Bob†Horne, in Iron River and they were married for 65 years. The Horne family moved to Cadillac in 1954.While lving in Cadillac Virgy worked at Mercy Hospital and retired from Cadillac Girl Coat Company. Virgy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Cadillac and was active in the Zion stitchery group. She was also a member of The Scarlett Bonnet Red Hats. Virgy enjoyed painting with water colors, working in her flower garden, feeding the wild birds and sipping her tea. She is survived by her daughter, Arline Wiggins of Lake City; grandchildren: Kristen (Ron) Wong of Seattle WA, Robert (Dawn) Wiggins of Cadillac, Knute (Beth) Danielsen of Woodbury, TN, Molly (Bruce) Nowland of Lake City; 12 Great- grandchildren; a sister, Marion Horne of Iron River and very special friends, Jon and Cindy Wiggins. Virgy was a special Grandma to: Scott (Cathy) Wiggins of Davison, Corey (Heather) Wiggins and their three children, Kerri (Shay) Roby, Travis (fiancé, Tarra Scott) Wiggins all of Cadillac and several others that called her Grandma along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Virgy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter and son-in-law, Lawaine and Pastor Elmer Edwin Danielsen; son-in-law, Harold E. Wiggins; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette (Russell) Downey; a brother and sister-in-law, Elwood (Garnett) Peterson and special grandchildren, Mandy Wiggins and Brandon Wiggins. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Cadillac.
