Virginia May Knapko

May 28, 1931 - November 6, 2013

Virginia May Knapko of Evart formerly of Mesick passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 6, 2013 at her home. She was 82. She was born on May 28, 1931 in Flint to Palmer E. & Della O. (Burton) Nelson and they preceded her in death. On July 2, 1975 in Farmington Hills she married Donald R. Knapko and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2012. Mrs. Knapko had been employed as a bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed cooking and was an excellent seamstress. Virginia was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mesick. Survivors include her son Jeff Zibbell; five grandchildren: Angie, Brad, William, Chris, and Ron, Jr.; 2 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Doris Nelson and many close friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 2 sons; Ronald and Terry Zibbell, a brother, William Nelson. Private family graveside services will be held at Sherman-Mesick Cemetery with Pastor Robert Low officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of your choice. Arrangements were made by the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. An online guestbook is available at www.petersonfh.com.
