William L. McNitt
February 17, 1942 - February 5, 2014
William L. McNitt "Mr. Bill†of Cadillac passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at his home. He was 71. He was born February 17, 1942 in Almont, Michigan to Mac and Leona McNitt. Bill grew up in Cadillac, with a keen mechanical mind he had a fondness for cars and was a member of the Cadillac Hot Rods. After High School he entered the United States Air Force serving in Germany where he met his wife. Moving back to Cadillac after his service he started many businesses. Never shying from risk he suffered many ups and downs, however, even during lean years he was always willing to help those in need. The last business he operated was with his longtime companion and partner Sally Arrington who like his parents preceded him in death. Always quick to meet and make new and lasting friends he was and remains the only Honorary Member of the Watchet, England PIGS golf club whose members he met while visiting his son in England, a testament to him as he was terrible at golf. He is survived by his sons, Steve and (Faith) McNitt of Essex, England and Kevin (Keiko) McNitt of St. Joseph, Michigan; grandchildren Megan and Breanne McNitt; siblings David (Ann)McNitt of Dewitt, Michigan and Carolyn Carey of Wyoming, Michigan and many nieces a nephews. A celebration of life (memorial gathering) will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the AMVETS Post #110 in Cadillac. All adults are welcome. Memorial contributions may be given to Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank. An online guestbook is available is www.petersonfh.com. ', '');
