Wilmer “Web†Patrick, of Cadillac, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at his home. He was 70. He was born on January 20, 1942, in Yellow Mountain, Ky., to Arthur and Ida (Fitch) Patrick, and they preceded him in death. Web graduated from Martin High School and had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He had been employed at General Motors in Kalamazoo and retired in 1993. In 1998, he moved to the Cadillac area from Plainwell. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, working in the yard and his flowers. He was a member of the UAW. In July of 1962, in Plainwell, he married the former Darlene Ann Earle, and she survives him, along with a brother, Elmer Patrick of Plainwell; three sisters; Maxie (Richard) Cleary of Martin, Wanda Patrick of Paw Paw, and Jeanette (Dick) Herp of Martin, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Vonnie. A memorial gathering will take place at the home of Jeanette Herp, Web\'s sister, 1441 Sixth St., Martin, Mich., on Saturday, September 8, 2012, starting at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
