Winnie Euwema

Winnie Euwema, of rural Marion, went to be with her Lord on the evening of Monday, October 1, 2012, at the Pleasant Ridge Center in Marion. She was 93. She was born September 27, 1919, in the Netherlands, to Evertt and Willimina (Berghuis) VanderMeulen. She married Benjamin Euwema on November 20, 1942, at the Euwema family home in Missaukee County. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1997. Winnie was a homemaker and worked along side her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing and working with cloth on many different projects. She was a member of the Vogel Center Christian Reformed Church, where she was a member of the Women\'s Association. She is survived by a son, Calvin Euwema of Marion, and in-laws, Rich and Aggie Euwema of Marion. She was preceded in death by many siblings and in-laws. Services will be held at the Vogel Center Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Duane Timmermans will officiate, and burial will be in the Vogel Center Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the Burkholder Funeral Home in McBain. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice or the Pleasant Ridge Center.
