Dennis H. Hamilton

Dennis H. Hamilton of Cadillac passed away peacefully and met his Lord and Savior Saturday, October 14, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey surrounded by his family and friends. He was 65. Dennis was born July 26, 1952 in Cadillac to Clark H. and Marjory M. (Flint) Hamilton. In 1970 he graduated from Cadillac High School. To Denny working was one of his hobbies and he was the owner/operator of Hamilton Communications for 38 years. He also owned many rentals in the Cadillac area since 1984. Volunteering and helping people were his passion. He often led mission trips with his church to several parts of the world, with Nicaragua having a special place in heart. He was an active member of First Church of the Nazarene in Cadillac and of Gideon's International. Over the years he also enjoyed hunting with his sons. On May 13, 1972 in Marion he married the former Darla J. Brocht and she survives him along with their children, Kimberly (HJ) Host of Cedar Springs, Mark (Jessica) Hamilton of Troy, and Matt (Stacey) Hamilton of East Jordan; he was affectionately known as "Papa DonutÃ¢â‚¬Â by his 7 grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Mailey, Gabby, Audrey, Sophie, Caleb, Amelia, and Miah; his mother, Marjory Hamilton of Cadillac; siblings: his twin brother, David (Pam) Hamilton of Geneva, IL, Kathy (Randy) Ball, Steve (Lisa) Hamilton, Jeff (Julie) Hamilton all of Cadillac; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins and Denny's lifelong best friend, Lloyd (Paula) Crandall of Cadillac. He was preceded in death by his father, Clark in 2016, his father and mother-in-law, Frank & Ines Brocht and a sister-in-law, Denise Brocht. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Cherry Grove Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Brandon Metzger and Pastor Bud Hafley officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac. Friends may meet the family from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM Wednesday at Peterson Funeral & Cremation Services in Cadillac. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Melanoma Research Foundation or to First Church of the Nazarene of Cadillac Mission Fund.
