Diane L. Bronkema

Diane L. Bronkema of McBain passed away, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Autumnwood of McBain. She was 80. Diane was born October 13, 1944 in Lake City to Albert D. and Anna Marie (Gilde) Burkholder and they preceded her in death. On March 3, 1962 in McBain she married Ernest L. Bronkema and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2017. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Cadillac where she taught Sunday school and volunteered in the nursery and library. Diane had a rewarding career working with children with special needs as a para-pro for the Wexford-Missaukee ISD for over 17 years before retiring. She was an avid talented seamstress, enjoyed crafts and quilting, gardening, photography reading, loved cooking and baking. She enjoyed golf cart rides with her husband Ernie. Diane loved working with children and above all else spending time with her family. She is survived by their children: Dean (Amy) Bronkema of Walker, Michigan, Tracey (Craig) Weston of Manhattan, Kansas, Daryl (Melissa) Bronkema of Middleville, Michigan and Brent (Tamie) Bronkema of McBain; daughter-in-law, Lisa Bronkema of McBain; 29 grandchildren, with whom she loved spending time with: Ashley (Ben), Chelsea (Derek), Drew, Emmitt, Alex (Nicki), Brittney (Trea), Derek (Tressa), Courtney (Zion), Sean (David), Chloe, Kyle, Jordan (Kelly), Chandler (Caroline), Jackson (Anna), Caleb, Savanah, Faith, Kaitlyn (Josue), Meghan (Josh), Mollie (Isaac), Anna (Xander), Makayla, Savanna, Ava, Aiden, Geovanni, Alison, Tricia and Holly; 16 great-grandchildren (and many more on the way); siblings: Norma (DuWayne) Fagerman of Pearson, MI, Keith (Norma) Burkholder of McBain and Wayne Burkholder of Lake City; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Bryan in 2004 and brothers, Larry and Bruce Burkholder. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 15, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Cadillac with Reverends Chad Zaucha and David McMahon officiating. Friends may meet the family Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until services. Burial will take place at Mount View Cemetery in McBain.
