Florence M. Majerle

Florence M. Majerle of Cadillac passed away Sunday morning, March 6, 2016 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital. She was 97. Flo was born on June 19, 1918 in Calumet, Michigan to Max E. & Mary A. (Kobe) Miller and moved to Cadillac at age 3. On July 24, 1943 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac she married Albin R. Majerle and he preceded her in death on January 14, 1986. She worked as a bookkeeper; spending most of her employment at Great Lakes Express Company and retiring from National Business Service. She was also the secretary and treasurer of Mount Carmel Cemetery for 22 years. Flo always put faith first in her life. She was a lifelong member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She had a strong connection to her faith which she showed through her countless acts of service through charitable works. Outside of the comfort from her faith, her greatest joys included: spending time with family, playing cards and games, dancing, baking, exercising, and visits with her many special friends. She was a skilled seamstress who took great pride in the beautiful clothing she created for herself and others. She was also a sports enthusiast, keeping box score of the Detroit Tigers games and for many years was a staple at Cadillac sporting events. Her selfless acts of kindness and dedication to healthy living were an inspiration to her family and although she will be greatly missed, her generous spirit and joy of life will be passed on for many generations to come. Survivors include her four children: Rita Majerle-Klug of Milwaukee, WI, Timothy Majerle of Cadillac, Margaret (Jerry) Dicey of Hawaii and Christine "TinaÃ¢â‚¬Â (Stacey) Creed of Cadillac; grandchildren: Denise (Larry) Nord, Jessica Majerle, Amy (Brad) Ocain, Benjamin (Johanna) Foust, Johann (Ashley) Foust, Erica (Peter) Scott, Ron Klug, Deja (Adam) Rojeski, Sheena (Ben) Balcom, and Matt Forsgren; great-grandchildren Trevor Nord, John Foust, Hannah Foust, Larry Nord Jr., Stella Balcom, Marlee Rojeski, Hudson Ocain, Reya Rojeski, Sophia Scott, Rex Balcom, and Lilah Scott; in-laws, Esther and Wally Anderson and Gladys Myers as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Mary, Agnes, John, Gertrude and Helen. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 11, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac with Msgr. Francis J. Murphy as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Peterson Funeral & Cremation Services in Cadillac and the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM. June 19, 1918 - March 6, 2016
