Gloria M. Campbell

Gloria Maude "GloÃ¢â‚¬Â Campbell of Luther went to be with her Lord Thursday afternoon, December 29, 2016 at Samaritas Senior Living in Cadillac. She was 89. She was born on May 20, 1927 in Luther, Michigan to Albert & D. Ethel (Sarver) Sellers. In 1945 she graduated from high school and was employed at Moyer Office Supply in Cadillac. In 1946 she moved out west to New Mexico with her father and later got married and moved to Colorado. Gloria loved camping, fishing, gardening, picking fruit for canning, putting on dinners for friends, going to garage sales, collecting antiques. Wherever Gloria lived she looked up a Bible believing church right away. She accepted the Lord Jesus into her heart as a little child. Gloria loved the Lord and was a Sunday school teacher and pianist. In 1985 she moved back to Luther, Michigan and joined the Dover Baptist Church in Bristol where she began as a mere child with her family and would continue to serve for many years. Gloria also served on the Dover Township Board for many years. On August 12, 1971 in Jackson, Michigan she married Merle V. "TeddyÃ¢â‚¬Â Campbell and he survives her along with children: Forrest (Kathy) Halladay of Bear Lake, Michigan, Laurann (Gary) Titler of Longview, Texas, Carl (Dawn) Halladay of Pleasant Lake, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Vonna Halladay of Jackson, Michigan; 3 grandchildren: Mileen Bellinger, Greg (Christina) Titler, and Shawn (Amanda) Halladay; 8 great grandchildren; 2 step-sons: Christian Campbell of Luther and Kevin (Julie) Campbell of Simi Valley, California; 2 step-grandchildren: Sabrina (Timothy) Thomas and Donovan Campbell; 5 step-great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Gae Caron of Luther and Katherine Bindig of Florida. In addition to her parents Gloria was preceded in death by a brother, Nathan Gould; 2 sisters: Joyous Johnson and Jane Schilling and a son, Christopher Halladay. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Peterson Funeral & Cremation Services in Cadillac with Pastor Ron Ruark officiating. Burial will be at Dover Township Cemetery in Lake County. Friends may meet the family from 5-7 PM on Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
