Henry Schut

Henry \"Bud\" Schut of Cadillac passed away Tuesday morning, February 28, 2017 at Samaritas Senior Living in Cadillac. He was 91. \n\"Bud\" was born April 20, 1925 in Lucas, Michigan to John J. and Helen (Yonkman) Schut. Mr. Schut attended school in Lucas, and in 1944 he entered the United States Army and served during World War II. \"Bud\" had been employed at Chris Craft, Kysor Industrial and Inland Lake Machine Shop in Cadillac and had also been a self-employed carpenter for many years. Mr. Schut was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac, Knights of Columbus #1224 and the American Legion Post #94 of Cadillac. "BudÃ¢â‚¬Â loved Detroit Tiger Baseball, rabbit hunting, deer hunting, fishing and to dance the polka. \nIn October of 2015 Henry had the opportunity to go on the Mid-Michigan Honor Flight and was proud to go with his grandson Andrew Schut, who was an Afghanistan/Iraq war Veteran \nOn November 13, 1943 in Novi, Michigan he married the former Helen V. Fuzi and she survives him along with their children, Bernadette (Steve) McLeod of Cadillac, Allen (Louise) Schut of West Bend, WI; 7 grandchildren: Lindy (Matt) Weidmeyer, Andrew Schut, John Schut, Shannon McLeod, Michael (Katie) McLeod, Elizabeth (Joseph) Dubiel, and Thomas (Robin) McLeod; 10 great grandchildren: Mason, Hailey Mae, Jillian, Alyssa, Vann, Peyton, Emmalie, Preston, Madison, Castle; 2 sisters: Anne Parker of Sparta and Janice (Ronald) Scott of Cadillac. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: John Schut, Margie Ellens, Gerald Schut, Jay Schut, Edward Schut and 2 infant siblings, Betty Jean and Clarence "MarvinÃ¢â‚¬Â Schut.\nThe Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac with Msgr. Francis J. Murphy as celebrant. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cadillac. And full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard.\nMemorial contributions may be made to Mid-Michigan Honor Flight or to St. Ann School Music Program.
