Jane Frances Hartsig

Jane Frances Hartsig, previously Warnement and Quenneville, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at the age of 83. Jane was born in Tiffin, OH on August 31, 1942. Growing up in Tiffin, Jane was the second of seven sisters and one brother. After graduating from Calvert High School, she followed a calling to religious life and joined the Ursuline Sisters. She was a nun and teacher for the next 8 years. After leaving the convent, she married John Quenneville, and started a life based on her faith, and commitment to education. Jane dedicated her professional career to education, serving first as a teacher, and then as a high school guidance counselor, spending most of her career at Richmond High School, in Richmond, MI. Jane was respected for her genuine care for young people as they navigated important life decisions. Jane was widowed in 1979. She married Jim Hartsig in 1982, relocated to Clinton Twp, MI, and gained another daughter, Anne. Jane and Jim worked, retired, and spent many years travelling and spending winters in Sun City, SC, where they had many friends. Jane said those years were some of the happiest times of her life. Jane and Jim moved to Fox Run, in Novi, Michigan in their later lives, and made many other friends, and spent more time with family. Above all, Jane cherished her loved ones. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her daughters and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Helen Quenneville Kiomento and Anne Hartsig Breuch, grandchildren, Tess and Jack Breuch, and James and Frannie Kiomento. She is survived by her siblings, Judy Bour, Anne (Tom) Hummer, Alice (Thad) Kosnikowski, Ruth Rahla, John (Sue) Warnement and other loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Elmer Warnement, her siblings, Kay and Mary, and her spouses, John Quenneville and Jim Hartsig, and many other relatives and friends. Jane will be remembered for her gentle spirit, smile, laughter, thoughtfulness, and her faith. Her spirit will be carried in the lives of her family, who she cherished. A celebration of life will be planned in the future. Jane’s memory will live on in the hearts of all of us who knew and loved her.
