Kelly Jean Sandelius

Kelly Jean Sandelius passed away on April 26, 2018 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was 56 years of age and was born in Cadillac, Michigan on May 12, 1961. She graduated Cadillac High School in 1979, married her husband of 35 years, Dan Sandelius on July 31, 1982. After 16 years of service working at North Central Community Mental Health Kelly realized that she was called to the most important job of anyone\'s life, raising our daughters. After about eight years of health struggles with her daughter, Kayla, God oh so guided her into healthy eating and alternative healthy choices. This divinely led her into starting Genesis (new beginning) an in home business/ministry, which quickly changed to Healthy Basics, where she has spent 20 years serving and helping others. Kelly was formally educated in the area in which she was so passionate about. She earned her Doctor of Naturopathy from Trinity College of Natural Health and was a Certified Herbalist through the Natural Solution Training Institute. One of her biggest struggles was balancing family, serving others (work) as none of it was work to her; she loved almost all of it. Her greatest passion, seeking and sharing Jesus. She wanted that to be known first in all she did, evidenced by her life. The rest is all about her adorable daughters, Kayla Pike and Kendra Sandelius, son-in- law Jonathan Pike and darling, awesome, incredibly handsome grandson, Samuel Pike. She liked simple family time, cooking, and reading. She is survived by her husband, 35 years, Dan Sandelius; daughters Kayla (John) Pike, Kendra Sandelius; grandson, Samuel Pike; brothers, Jim (Bobby) Cawley, Rob (Sara) Cawley; also many brothers and sister- in- law; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; surviving also are her mothers and fathers -in-law; Ken and Mary Sandelius, Don and Diane Hoitenga. She has been preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Barbara (Benson) Cawley, her grandson Joshua Pike. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Irons Bible Church in Lake County with Pastor Steven Tshannen officiating. Friends may meet the family Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac. Her final resting place will be Haring Township Cemetery.
