Lois L. Thompson

Lois L. Thompson of Cadillac passed away, Friday, February 15, 2019 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 89. Lois was born December 21, 1929 in Cadillac to Ralph and Alma (Anderson) Jamieson and they preceded her in death. In June 1950 she married Paul A. Anderson and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1962. She later married James T. Thompson in 1966 and he also preceded her in death on February 9, 1998. She graduated from Cadillac High School and went on to earn an Associate's Degree in business from Ferris State University. Lois worked at Schafer Bakery, Little Red Shoe House and H. L. Green. She also a proud volunteer at the North American Snowmobile Festival and the Red Cross Blood Bank. Lois was a member of United Methodist Church in Cadillac. She was also a long time member of TOPs graduating to KOPS. Lois loved her grandchildren and tried to spend as much time with them as she could. She also loved to go camping and travel. Her travels took her all over the country and Canada. Lois especially likes to visit the parks and landmarks of the Upper Peninsula. She had a great sense of humor and loved dogs and shopping. She is survived by a sister, Joyce Jamieson of Cadillac; Lois's children: Wanda Anderson of Cadillac, Paula (Rodney) Spalding of Suttons Bay, Kathy (Richard) Durkin of Grawn, James Anderson (Karen Klinker) of Cadillac; grandchildren: Ryan, Renee, Paul, Brian, Amanda; great-grandchildren: Landon, Isabelle, Vince, Connor, Dominic, Elizabeth; step-son, Jack (Shelia) Thompson; and a special cousin, Rosanne Anderson of Traverse City. In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by a son, Ralph W. Anderson in 1985. Memorial services will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac with Reverend Rosanne Anderson officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Her final resting place will be Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
