Nancy Jane Risdon

Nancy Jane Risdon passed away July 16, 2016. She was 74. Nancy was born on February 9, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to Ruth Jane (Walsh) and Charles Roland Risdon III. Nancy is survived by her brothers Charles "ChuckÃ¢â‚¬Â Risdon and Russell (Lynn) Risdon and her step sister Ann "SissyÃ¢â‚¬Â (Lonnie) Dowling. She is predeceased by her parents, half brother, William "BillÃ¢â‚¬Â Daly, father figures James Daly and Harry B. Pock, and step mother Marjorie D. Risdon. Nancy attended high school at Ladywood School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Nancy cherished the childhood friends with whom she had in recent years become reconnected. Nancy Jane Risdon married Michael Bernard Korte, son of Michael Anthony and Gertrude Korte of Dearborn, Michigan, on October 19, 1963 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dearborn. They started their life together in Garden City, Michigan, shortly after their birth of their first child, Carol, they moved to Dearborn, Michigan, where Mick and Dave, were born. Then in 1973 they moved to Cadillac, Michigan. Nancy always believed that her three children were her most precious blessings - Carol Lynn Koch of Birmingham, AL, Michael "MickÃ¢â‚¬Â Korte, and David (Angela) Korte of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She also found great joy in her grandchildren: Meredith Marie and Amanda Jane Koch and Kyle David and Eva Lillian Korte. She is predeceased by her son Mick, who passed away June 4, 2011. Nancy found great comfort and companionship in her sweet dog Sassy. She also enjoyed volunteering with the Patriot Choir. Favorite pastimes included enjoying coffee and chatting with her friends, doing crossword puzzles, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Visitation will be at Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services on Monday, July 18, 2016, from 5-7 pm. Rite of Christian Burial will be at St. Ann Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 10:00 am, with Monsignor Francis J. Murphy officiating. Family will receive guests for one hour prior to the Mass.
