Sergio A. Delgado

Sergio A. Delgado of Cadillac passed away, Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025. He was 36. Sergio was born April 1, 1989 in San Francisco, California. He attended St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Palo Alto and later graduated from Woodside High School in California. After high school Sergio attended massage school where he found love and moved to Michigan to start a family. He was blessed with his son, Simon, who he lived for. Once in Michigan Sergio worked at MC Sports and later began his career in law enforcement/ security. He worked with the Wexford County Sherriff’s Department for several years before moving to be the School Resource Officer for Mesick Schools. Sergio was currently Assistant Director of Campus Safety at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Sergio loved the outdoors; camping, hunting and fishing were some of his favorite activities and he enjoyed sharing those with his son. Family was the most important thing to Sergio; especially his son, Simon was his everything. He had the ability to fix anything and could cook anything from everyday dinners to holiday feasts. Sergio had a magnetic and giving personality. He could draw anyone into conversation and was always willing to help others without expecting anything in return. He is survived by his son, Simon; mother, Aurora Delgado of Hollister, California; father, Joel Delgado of Red Wood City, California; grandmothers, Glicelia Nava, Adela Garcia; siblings: Grethel Anguiano (Rodolfo Mendoza) of Hollister, California, Joel Delgado of Cadillac, Adela Delgado of Red Wood City, California; nieces and nephews: Oscar, Sean Carlo, Xinia and Mariana Cervantes; great-nephew, Franco Cervantes; many aunts, uncles, cousins and his bonus Michigan family, Pam, Megan and Chris Manley. Sergio was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Angel Anguiano, Marcial Delgado and friend, Drew Manley. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac with Fr. Michael Janowski as celebrant. Friends may meet the family Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac. Burial will take place at Selma Township Cemetery in Wexford County.
