Timothy Hillman

Timothy Hillman of Cadillac passed away at home on Thursday, October 2, 2014. He was 70. He was born on November 9, 1943 in Coffeyville, Kansas to John & Wilda (Miller) Hillman. Tim graduated from Cadillac High School and attended Davenport College and Ferris State University. He married Sheri R. Thrush on January 31, 1975 in Cadillac. He was employed as a buyer for Four Winns for several years and later in sales for Fastenal. Tim was very active in the Thursday night basketball league playing until he was 67 years old. He was co-organizer of the Cadillac Commercial League which became the current City League. He was past Secretary/Treasurer of the Cadillac Optimist Club. Tim enjoyed carpentry as a hobby and was always lending his skills as a handyman. Tim was a man of great integrity, selfless, kind and compassionate, caring deeply for all those around him, always considering the needs of others. He mentored young athletes and coached CASA basketball for many years. He supported many causes, such as Habitat for Humanity and the Humane Society as an animal advocate, and had a great love for his dogs. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Tim is survived by his loving wife Sheri, son Andrew (Jennifer), daughter Laurie (Rick) Rohloff; grandsons: Zacary and David; mother, Wilda; brother, Tom (Molly); sisters: Deb Barney, Liz (Leonard) Terranova, and Martha (Bill) Norman; nephews and nieces: Eric, Patrick, Sarah, Mary Ann, Katie, Susan, Courtney, Shelby; great nephews and nieces: Blake, Stefan, Grant, Luke, Grace, Lucy, Jack, Ella, Mitchell, Olivia; sister-in-law, Shelly Ashmore; nephews: Michael & Jonathon; niece, Kim (Brandon) Quigley and great nephew, Sam. He is preceded in death by his brother Philip, and his father John. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at the United Methodist Church of Cadillac, 1020 E.
